Weekly Digest #6: A Late-Breaking Clue
NY State schedules a meeting to talk foreclosure. New photos and animation of the project's future.
This weekly digest offers a way for people to keep up with my Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Report blog, as well as my other coverage in this newsletter.
The big news came late. I reported yesterday that there will be a meeting of the advisory Atlantic Yards Community Development Corporation (AY CDC) on Tuesday, with the foreclosure sale of rights to six development parcels—over the Vanderbilt Yard—on the agenda.
What exactly might emerge is unclear. But it does make sense that the Feb. 12 foreclosure sale wouldn’t proceed—if it does—without some recognition of the role of Empire State Development (ESD), the state authority that oversees/shepherds the project.

Designer Ben Keel produced two short animated videos to help explain what a street-level view of the project buildout would look like. (There hadn’t been any such images. And those are the parcels subject to the foreclosure sale.)
The one below is focused on the eastern end of the project.
